Landscape in Watercolor Workshop

**The October workshop focuses primarily on painting landscapes. You may bring your own photos to paint. If you missed the September introductory workshop and prefer to paint other subjects, you are welcome to do so. I will help you get caught up. Please leave a note when booking your class so I can prepare accordingly.

Introduction to Oil Painting Semi-private Class
When: Sunday, Oct 18, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Tuition: $150*. ($135 if you bring your own painting materials, solvent-free)
This workshop is for complete beginners or anyone who has painted in other media but wants to try oil painting. It’s also for anyone who has had a long break from oil painting and needs a refresher. I will show you how to use oil paint without any toxic components; we’ll work on paint application, clean gradients, and creating 3D illusions with limited values. We’ll focus mainly on still-life subjects for this introductory workshop.
November "The Joy of Watercolor" Workshop

Beginner to advanced; all are welcome.
Not just painting things. Learn how to actually build a painting.
In this rare, small-group intensive, we bypass the usual paint-by-numbers tricks. Instead, you’ll learn how to break down a scene, capture light, and intentionally build a painting from scratch with guidance tailored entirely to you.
Private Instruction
- I currently teach private lessons to a small, dedicated group of students. Beginners to advanced artists are all welcome.
- The private lessons take place in my studio in the Jack London Square area of Oakland. We also have a Gallery in the front of the studio area.
- If you would like to study oil or watercolor painting with me one-on-one, I offer both an in-person 2-hour “Focused Foundation” ($150) and a 3-hour “Deep Dive” ($200). Please book below.
- Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that there is a non-refundable $50 fee for lessons rescheduled within 24 hours or for no-shows.
